Assistant Professor of Practice – Artificial Intelligence

About the role

The Department of Information Technology at Ajman University seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor of Practice in Artificial Intelligence to start in the Spring 2026‑2027 academic year. The role blends academic teaching with industry‑focused expertise, preparing students for AI‑driven careers.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate AI, IT and related courses using student‑centered, technology‑enhanced methods.
• Design and deliver practice‑oriented learning experiences that incorporate real‑world case studies, datasets, tools and industry scenarios.
• Supervise capstone projects, internships, applied research and innovation activities.
• Develop curriculum aligned with AI advances, industry trends and accreditation requirements.
• Build partnerships with industry, government and community stakeholders to support internships, guest lectures and collaborative projects.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated undergraduate teaching experience in AI or related subjects.
• Strong professional or leadership experience in industry, digital transformation or intelligent systems.
• Evidence of applied scholarship, consultancy or collaborative projects with external partners.

Required skills

• Experience with machine learning libraries.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools.
• Knowledge of cloud AI services.
• Use of data analytics platforms.
• Understanding of MLOps environments.
• Work with intelligent application development ecosystems.
