Assistant Resident Engineer – Geotechnical

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer – Geotechnical to provide on‑site engineering support and supervision for earthworks and related infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with the Resident Engineer to ensure all geotechnical activities comply with approved designs, specifications and testing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and deputise for the Resident Engineer, supporting overall site delivery.
• Review geotechnical reports, drawings, specifications and soil investigation data and verify implementation on site.
• Monitor and verify excavation, grading, embankments, backfilling, compaction and soil improvement works.
• Assess ground conditions, identify unsuitable materials or groundwater issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and review method statements, ITPs, RFIs/TQs and manage geotechnical NCRs to closure.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and laboratories, witness and verify tests such as FDT, CBR, Proctor, plate load and soil classification.
• Support foundation and utilities trenching by verifying bearing strata and backfilling.
• Maintain accurate site records, produce reports and participate in technical meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
