Assistant Resident Engineer - MEP

About the role

Assistant Resident Engineer – MEP will support the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction of stormwater pump station infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures compliant installation, testing and handover of mechanical and electrical systems while coordinating with contractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in day‑to‑day supervision of MEP works for stormwater pump stations.
• Monitor installation of pumps, piping, valves, electrical equipment, and control/instrumentation against approved drawings and standards.
• Review contractor submissions such as method statements, ITPs, shop drawings and material submittals and follow up on closures.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities and support preparation of handover documentation and permits.
• Track progress and quality, manage NCRs and technical queries, and provide regular reporting and site coordination with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience on infrastructure projects, preferably stormwater pump stations.
• Strong knowledge of testing and commissioning processes and construction supervision practices.
• Excellent communication, coordination and reporting abilities.
