Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Internal Medicine

About the role

The Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Internal Medicine (general or subspecialty). The role combines teaching, clinical service, and research within an internationally recognised, problem‑based curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate medical students and postgraduate master’s candidates in clinical research.
• Design and deliver curricula for internal medicine clerkships, supervise student projects and theses.
• Provide acute and ambulatory outpatient clinical services at affiliated teaching hospitals.
• Conduct and publish biomedical clinical research in collaboration with hospital colleagues.
• Participate in departmental and university committees related to education and research.

Required profile

• MD or MBBS degree with board certification (or equivalent) in Internal Medicine from an accredited programme in North America, Australia, Europe or South Africa.
• Demonstrated advanced clinical and research training.
• Eligibility for a consultant licence under current Department of Health regulations.
• Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, including curriculum development and student supervision.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed biomedical research publications.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in internal medicine.
• Ability to teach, assess and mentor medical students and trainees.
• Curriculum design and educational assessment skills.
• Research methodology and scientific writing.
• Familiarity with USMLE, Canadian Qualifying Examinations or equivalent examinations is desirable.
