Associate Vice President – Hedge Fund Accountant (AVP)

About the role

The Apex Group is seeking an Associate Vice President to lead fund administration activities for open‑ended hedge funds in its Dubai office. The AVP will oversee NAV calculation, shareholder reporting and compliance, while coordinating with global support centres and managing a team of account managers and senior accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the NAV preparation and review process for hedge‑fund clients, ensuring timely delivery of all client‑specific reporting.
• Plan, schedule and manage daily workflows for client deliverables such as NAV computation, transfer agency, audit and regulatory reporting.
• Reconcile investment portfolios, dividends, corporate actions and investor capital activity.
• Accrue and amortise management, performance and financing fees on a daily or monthly basis.
• Lead the take‑on process for new clients, including PPM review, set‑up of reporting packages and initial NAV calculations in PFS Paxus.
• Coordinate audit preparation, tax statements and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.

Required profile

• 7‑9 years of experience in fund accounting, NAV calculation and compliance for hedge‑fund structures.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and complex securities accounting (equities, bonds, futures, options, sukuk, CDS, CFDs).
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience of accounting professionals.
• Excellent organisational, communication and client‑service skills.
