Audit and Assurance Manager

About the role

The Audit and Assurance Manager leads the internal audit function, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role provides strategic insights to improve operational efficiency and safeguard the integrity of business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a risk‑based strategic and annual audit plan aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to identify key risks, challenges and audit priorities.
• Lead end‑to‑end assurance and advisory engagements, including investigations, in accordance with the IA Manual and IIA standards.
• Prepare and present audit planning memoranda outlining objectives, scope, risks and timelines for approval.
• Review risk and control matrices to assess design, implementation and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Supervise, coach and review the work of engagement teams, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and timely completion.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in internal audit, assurance or related advisory functions.
• Strong understanding of risk‑based audit methodologies and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to lead and develop audit teams while maintaining professional standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IIA standards and internal audit best practices.
• Experience with risk‑based audit planning and execution.
• Familiarity with risk and control matrix (RCM) assessments.
• Proficiency in root‑cause analysis techniques.
