BI Development Manager

About the role

The Business Intelligence Development Manager will lead the design, execution and delivery of end‑to‑end BI solutions for Majid Al Futtaim Retail. Working closely with business functions and data engineers, you will translate business challenges into actionable analytics and automation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead BI project design, execution and delivery while ensuring compliance with MAFR BI standards and data governance.
• Collaborate with functional teams to identify key business challenges and develop data‑driven solutions.
• Supervise the creation, maintenance and real‑time update of Power BI workspaces, dashboards, reports and KPI monitoring.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive BI glossary covering KPIs, measures, dimensions and naming conventions.
• Design and implement Row‑Level Security (RLS), Policy‑Level Security (PLS) and Object‑Level Security (OLS) in partnership with data‑engineering teams.
• Co‑design a unified XMLA framework with the Cloud Architecture team to ensure secure read/write access and governance compliance.
• Utilise advanced SQL, DAX and Power Query M to extract insights from large datasets and perform regular data‑quality checks.
• Identify and automate manual processes, optimise data delivery and redesign infrastructure for scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a senior BI developer in an international, enterprise‑level environment.
• Proven track record of building complex BI solutions and delivering analytics projects.
• Strong understanding of data governance, BI architecture and cloud‑based data platforms.
