Biomedical Manager

About the role

Manage the hospital’s complete inventory of biomedical and medical equipment. Ensure equipment is installed, tested, commissioned, maintained, calibrated and operated in accordance with applicable requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the hospital’s complete inventory of biomedical and medical equipment, ensuring installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, calibration and operation comply with requirements.
• Develop, monitor and supervise preventive maintenance and calibration schedules to minimise equipment downtime.
• Oversee equipment procurement, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and user acceptance, coordinating with clinical departments and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and manufacturer recommendations, maintaining documentation for inspections and audits.
• Manage vendor relationships, annual maintenance contracts, service‑level agreements and performance monitoring.
• Lead and develop a team of Biomedical Engineers and Technicians, setting objectives, KPIs and conducting performance reviews.
• Maintain accurate asset registers, prepare annual operational and capital expenditure plans and support CAPEX budgeting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in biomedical engineering management within a hospital setting.
• Strong leadership skills to supervise engineers and technicians and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyse equipment performance data, identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements for medical devices.
