Business Development Manager – Air & Ocean

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Air & Ocean is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships. The role supports the company’s growth targets by expanding market presence, delivering strategic sales initiatives, and ensuring revenue growth across sea and air freight operations.

Key responsibilities

• Secure new accounts and manage the existing portfolio to meet yearly gross‑margin objectives.
• Develop and execute growth strategies in collaboration with all organizational levels.
• Conduct client visits, provide market expertise, and distribute market intelligence to sales and operations teams.
• Target, hunt, and qualify new prospects; follow up on leads generated from the network.
• Prepare quotations, issue SOPs, and manage the onboarding of new business.
• Lead RFI/RFQ processes, coordinate with operations, sales, tender management, procurement, finance and network agents.
• Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in the CRM and ensure timely payment collection.
• Draft commercial contracts, monitor customer creditworthiness, and collaborate with legal and financial services on risk assessment.
• Analyse performance, set annual budgets, and contribute to communication tasks such as events and sponsorships.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management or freight‑forwarding.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage a portfolio of clients.

Required skills

• CRM systems proficiency.
