Buyer – Fruit & Vegetable Sourcing

About the role

The Buyer will lead the sourcing and distribution strategy for fruit and vegetable products, ensuring high fill rates, quality standards and margin targets for our retail operations in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive implementation of sourcing and distribution plans aligned with the retail business vision.
• Monitor price volatility and conduct price tracking to optimise purchasing decisions.
• Design cost-effective models to control perishability and waste.
• Manage relationships with multiple suppliers, including farmers, vendors and strategic partners.
• Ensure daily, consistent supply while adapting to changing consumer expectations.
• Utilise data and systems to evaluate performance, control costs and mitigate risks.
• Provide training to stakeholders across the retail business to maximise efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage price volatility and track market prices.
• Experience developing cost-effective models for perishable goods.
• Strong understanding of supply-chain challenges such as infrastructure gaps and quality variability.
• Capability to work with diverse supplier bases and ensure reliable daily supply.
• Adaptability to shifting consumer expectations and market conditions.
