Cargo Operations Agent (EK SkyCargo)

About the role

The Cargo Operations Agent will ensure efficient, safe, and compliant handling of cargo, courier and mail within a dedicated warehouse and airside environment. Working at EK SkyCargo’s multi‑airport hub, you will lead a team to meet service delivery targets while supporting global trade flows.

Key responsibilities

• Direct a team in cargo, courier and mail handling, maintaining safety, quality and efficiency standards.
• Inspect, verify and count goods at acceptance, breakdown and build‑up stages, updating shipment details in the Skychain system.
• Liaise with customs, health authorities and police to facilitate timely cargo movement.
• Ensure compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and EU Good Distribution Practice for pharmaceutical shipments.
• Plan and load cargo into ULDs according to aircraft capacity, priorities and payload constraints.
• Monitor and report ULD and equipment defects, manage irregularities, and initiate corrective actions.
• Oversee off‑loading and on‑loading processes, checking for deviations and advising corrective measures.

Required profile

• Experience in air cargo handling or warehouse operations, preferably in an airline environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety and security procedures related to cargo handling.
• Ability to lead a team, conduct safety briefings and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Attention to detail for inspection, counting and documentation of shipments.

Required skills

• Familiarity with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Understanding of EU Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements.
• Proficiency in using the Skychain cargo tracking system.
• Knowledge of ULD handling, AWB processing and cargo load planning.
