Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the daily accounting operations for an Accor hotel in Dubai, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with corporate policies. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role supports the implementation of the hotel’s financial strategy and collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting activities, mentor staff, and maintain effective controls.
• Verify bank balances and credit‑card reconciliations for Director of Finance approval.
• Ensure the General Cashier’s daily revenue deposits are accurate and timely.
• Perform month‑end reconciliations of all general‑ledger balances and report variances.
• Review monthly reports such as F&B and Cost Controller reports in line with company policy.
• Oversee tax payments and filings, resolving any discrepancies.
• Prepare various management reports as required.
• Assist the Director of Finance with accounting policy application, budgeting, financial analysis, and ad‑hoc tasks.
• Maintain organized filing of accounting records and contracts.
• Stay updated on new regulations and Accor policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, detail‑orientation, and ability to work under pressure.
• Professional appearance and team‑building mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Bayan HRMS.
• Knowledge of Sun System.
• Familiarity with Micros (Simphony) hotel finance systems.
