Chief Internal Auditor (UAE)

About the role

The organization, a leading Government of Dubai entity, seeks a Chief Internal Auditor to lead the internal audit function across its units. The role involves ensuring compliance with administrative, operational and financial policies, while providing independent, objective recommendations to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessment interviews with department managers (technical and non‑technical).
• Contribute to the preparation of the strategic and annual internal audit plan based on risk assessment results.
• Perform audit tasks across financial, operational, legal and technical areas with professional care.
• Ensure the quality of internal auditors' work and develop risk‑based audit programs.
• Carry out special assignments such as investigations, advisory services and independent reviews (fraud, risk management, etc.).
• Prepare draft reports for quality assurance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Maintain proper audit documentation, report conflicts of interest and perform any other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within government or semi‑government organizations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, Finance or equivalent; Master's degree is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CMA or CFE.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit standards and best practices.
• Must possess a UAE family book.
