Civil Inspector

About the role

The Civil Inspector will join the Construction Supervision Department and report to the Resident Engineer and Section Engineers. The role involves on‑site inspections of road and traffic infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes and government land boundaries.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect structures during and after construction for quality, safety and conformance to specifications and codes.
• Monitor material usage, construction techniques and installation of plumbing, wiring, equipment and appliances.
• Measure dimensions, level, alignment and elevation of structures against drawings.
• Maintain daily logs, photographic records and inspection reports.
• Verify that delivered construction materials meet ministerial requirements and are stored correctly.
• Coordinate with the construction team to obtain accurate survey control points and ensure adherence to shop drawings and snag lists.
• Attend off‑site or overseas inspections for material samples, mock‑ups and testing as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspection, quality control or site supervision, preferably on road/infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of construction codes, standards and material specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and shop drawings.
• Basic proficiency with surveying tools and measurement techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination.
• Proficiency with documentation software such as MS Office.
