Classroom Assistant (UAE National) – Yasmina American School

About the role

We are looking for a UAE National Classroom Assistant to join Yasmina American School in Abu Dhabi starting November 2025. The role supports teachers and students across Pre‑KG to Grade 5, helping to create an inclusive, safe and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist individual pupils or small groups inside and outside the classroom to ensure full participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of individual education programmes for pupils with additional needs.
• Help maintain pupil records, prepare displays of student work and assist with classroom organisation.
• Provide academic assistance, including group and one‑to‑one instruction, checking and correcting work, and keeping pupils on task.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks and other school locations, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists and other professionals as required.
• Participate in staff meetings, contribute to behaviour policy development and promote pupil self‑esteem.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the principal.

Required profile

• UAE National with a minimum attested secondary school certificate, diploma or degree.
• At least one year of experience as a Classroom Assistant or Inclusion Assistant.
• Ability to support pupils with emotional, behavioural or special educational needs.
• Good attendance, punctuality and professional appearance.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
