Commis 1 – Garage Production (Food & Beverage)

About the role

The Commis 1 – Garage Production supports the culinary team at W Hotels on Yas Island, preparing a range of meals and ensuring food quality and safety standards are met. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with chefs and service staff to deliver consistent, high‑standard dishes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures and maintain food logs.
• Thaw frozen items, portion, arrange, and garnish dishes accurately.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform chefs of excess items for specials, and update service staff on menu changes.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow safety, security, and uniform policies; report maintenance issues and incidents.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
• Minimum three years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking according to standardized recipes.
• Temperature control of kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, roasters).
• Accurate portioning, plating, and garnish techniques.
