Commis 1 – Italian Cuisine (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a Commis 1 to join the Italian cuisine team at our luxury JW Marriott hotel in Dubai. The role involves preparing the workstation, cooking and presenting dishes to the highest quality standards, and supporting the kitchen team during service.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the workstation with all required mise en place before each service.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes according to established recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Monitor stock levels, ensure proper food storage and follow FIFO procedures.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, sanitation, temperature control and labeling standards.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and assume their responsibilities when required.
• Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns and any food quality problems promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience working in a steakhouse kitchen, preferably within a luxury hotel or premium dining establishment.
• Ability to support menu implementation, cross‑training and knowledge sharing with junior team members.
