Commis 2 – Garage Production (Food & Beverage)

About the role

W Hotels is looking for a Commis 2 to join the Garage Production team on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will support food preparation, cooking, and kitchen sanitation in a fast‑paced food and beverage environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Test and monitor food for proper cooking and temperature.
• Prepare cold dishes and assemble plated meals.
• Set‑up and break down work stations, ensuring cleanliness of tools, knives and equipment.
• Maintain hygiene standards by washing and disinfecting kitchen areas and equipment.
• Follow company safety, security and food‑safety policies, reporting any issues to the manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.

• Food preparation techniques.
• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients accurately.
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
