Commis Chef – Hotel Kitchen Operations

About the role

The Commis Chef supports daily kitchen operations at Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites, assisting with food preparation, cooking, and presentation. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie and senior chefs to ensure every dish meets the hotel’s recipes, hygiene standards, and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes, portion sizes, and hotel standards.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily preparation and operation of the assigned kitchen section.
• Handle ingredient preparation – washing, cutting, chopping, marinating, and portioning.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment, utensils, and work area clean and hygienic.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Check freshness and quality of ingredients, report concerns, and store items using FIFO procedures.
• Minimise waste and use supplies responsibly.
• Support buffet setups, live stations, banquets, and other events as required.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any defects.

• Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Willingness to follow hotel grooming, safety, and operational policies.
