Commis Chef – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Mama Shelter Dubai. You will work in a vibrant, urban hotel environment, preparing dishes that reflect the brand’s playful and affordable culinary style.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes following Mama Shelter recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain a fully stocked and organized station before each service (mise en place).
• Deliver consistent flavour, presentation and portion sizes for every guest.
• Manage stock efficiently and help reduce food waste.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure it is cleaned after each service.
• Support fellow chefs during busy periods and contribute to a positive kitchen atmosphere.
• Guide and assist junior commis staff as needed.
• Continuously learn new techniques, seasonal ingredients and menu updates.
