Commis Chef – Luxury Hotel (Dubai)

About the role

The Commis will support the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations at a luxury hotel in Dubai. This entry‑level position involves preparing mise‑en‑place, handling food storage, and ensuring high standards of hygiene. You will work closely with senior chefs to deliver authentic Turkish hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Organise shifting and mise‑en‑place production together with the Chef de Partie.
• Execute orders from the Chef de Partie accurately and efficiently.
• Complete daily checklists for mise‑en‑place and food storage.
• Prepare wine, dry store, and food requisitions for executive approval.
• Maintain good colleague relations and motivate the team.
• Attend daily and ad‑hoc meetings with senior kitchen staff.
• Monitor information boards for banquet changes and relay updates to the next shift.
• Report equipment failures and ensure timely maintenance.
• Maintain Hygiene and HACCP records in line with regulations.

Required profile

• Completed kitchen apprenticeship or chef training of at least one year.
• 1–2 years experience in a five‑star international hotel chain.
• Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
• Good communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in mise‑en‑place preparation.
• Knowledge of HACCP hygiene standards.
• Basic understanding of inventory and stock rotation.
