Commissioning Manager

About the role

The Commissioning Manager will lead the planning, coordination and execution of all commissioning, start‑up and hand‑over activities for a major offshore project. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role ensures a safe and efficient transition of facilities from construction completion to operational readiness for ADNOC Offshore Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive the overall commissioning strategy, execution plans and schedules aligned with ADNOC requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams, discipline leads, vendors and specialist contractors.
• Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction and operations to ensure seamless system completion and hand‑over.
• Supervise pre‑commissioning tasks such as flushing, cleaning, leak testing, drying and nitrogen purging.
• Manage energisation, system testing and start‑up of process, utility, electrical, instrumentation, safety and telecommunications systems.
• Oversee mechanical and system completion, punch‑list tracking and progressive hand‑over to operations.
• Ensure operational readiness by verifying procedures, spare parts, maintenance systems and training.
• Promote HSE compliance, lead risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP close‑outs and strict Permit‑to‑Work control during high‑risk activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Chemical, Process or Marine Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 15‑20 years of oil & gas experience with at least 10 years in commissioning management on major offshore EPC/EPCI projects.
• Proven track record delivering greenfield offshore production facilities, gas processing and compression plants.
• Experience working with ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, Shell, BP or similar operators.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder coordination skills across EPC contractors, vendors and client teams.
