Commissioning Superintendent Mechanical

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent Mechanical to lead on‑site commissioning activities for a large‑scale EPC project in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring mechanical systems are ready for operation, coordinating with licensors and vendors, and delivering the project within contractual and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with licensors and vendors to monitor commissioning activities according to prescribed procedures.
• Oversee progress of commissioning for sales gas and condensate areas, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
• Review and approve pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures, manuals, and mechanical completion certificates.
• Participate in commissioning and technical meetings, providing expertise and troubleshooting support.
• Verify system readiness for MC and RFSU certificate issuance and manage punch‑list closure.
• Ensure hand‑over methodology complies with contractual documents and project requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in commissioning/operation readiness, preferably in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar senior role on oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with exposure to sour gas, hydrogen production, or hydro‑desulfurization.
• Proven ability to work on mega EPC projects and manage multidisciplinary teams.
