Component & Product Engineer – PCBA

About the role

Eaton is seeking a Component & Product Engineer – PCBA to ensure data integrity of Bill of Materials and manage process routines across SAP, Enovia and MES. The role acts as the primary liaison between R&D centers and manufacturing, supporting new product introductions, transfers, and product lifecycle changes.

Key responsibilities

• Liaison between R&D (customer) and manufacturing plant ERP/MES systems.
• Create and maintain BOM & BOL for NPIs in SAP, including routine management.
• Review and recommend substitute components to improve supply‑chain robustness and maintainability.
• Handle Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and implement risk‑management strategies for obsolescence.
• Lead cost‑reduction projects within design control.
• Analyse component data, identify failures, and address supplier quality issues.
• Support cross‑functional teams in implementing component changes.
• Provide guidance on part selection, design concepts, specifications, and alternate sources.
• Conduct quality reviews of component parameters from datasheets.
• Develop and maintain a cross‑R&D component database for electrical/electronic and indirect materials.
• Ensure industrialization team works with up‑to‑date R&D inputs (BOM, process flow, test specifications, CTQs, etc.).

Required profile

• Experience in PCBA industrialisation and manufacturing design.
• Strong knowledge of SAP, Enovia and MES (Aprisio) environments.
• Proven ability to manage BOM, BOL and ECN processes.
• Understanding of risk‑management and obsolescence mitigation.
• Track record of leading cost‑reduction and VAVE initiatives.
• Ability to work within cross‑functional teams and support logistics, quality and production.
