Component Quality Specialist – Empty Components Lab

About the role

The Component Quality Specialist will lead incoming inspection of empty components and packaging materials for the Empty Components Lab (ECL) in LAHAB. The role ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards before production release, supervises laboratory activities, and drives continuous improvement in quality management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all incoming inspections of empty components and packaging materials.
• Execute sampling plans according to approved procedures.
• Verify compliance of incoming materials against specifications, drawings, standards, and quality agreements.
• Review and approve inspection results prior to material release.
• Coordinate inspection priorities to support production schedules.
• Manage daily operations of the Empty Components Lab, ensuring equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Develop and implement testing methods and inspection procedures.
• Monitor laboratory performance metrics and turnaround times.
• Maintain accurate inspection and laboratory records and support supplier audits.
• Lead investigations into component defects, raise non‑conformance reports, and monitor recurring supplier quality issues.
• Ensure measurement accuracy, traceability, and compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Assurance, inspecting incoming mechanical components.
• Proven experience setting up and operating an Empty Components lab, including calibration activities.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally.
