Consultant Neurology Physician

About the role

The Consultant Neurology Physician will lead and supervise the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based neurological care at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City. The role involves diagnosing, managing and treating patients across the neurology spectrum while providing clinical leadership and training for junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Lead performance management processes, including peer review and productivity assessments.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling to ensure continuous medical coverage.
• Participate in divisional meetings and recruitment of new medical staff.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and assume responsibility for their patient care.
• Conduct ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Review investigations, modify treatment plans as needed, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Obtain informed consent and prepare patients for procedures.

Required profile

• Board‑certified Neurology specialist with extensive clinical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, and continuous improvement.
