Consultant Pediatric Neuro-Oncology

About the role

The Consultant Pediatric Neuro-Oncology will lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to children with neuro‑oncological conditions at a major Abu Dhabi hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical excellence by diagnosing, managing and treating pediatric neuro‑oncology patients.
• Conduct patient examinations, take histories, order and interpret investigations, prescribe therapies and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Lead ward rounds and manage both inpatient and outpatient caseloads.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, including specialists, general practitioners and residents.
• Collaborate with other specialties and support services in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Participate in on‑call rotation covering evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with hospital, departmental and DOH policies.
• Engage in quality improvement activities such as audits, peer review and risk management.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families, ensuring informed consent.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent from a recognized medical school.
• Post‑graduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) and board certification or fellowship in pediatric neuro‑oncology.
• 3‑7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Valid DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) license or eligibility to obtain one.
