Cost Controller & Junior Accountant

About the role

Fruitful Day, a premium healthy‑food group based in Dubai, is looking for a Cost Controller / Junior Accountant. The hybrid position combines daily cost‑tracking of fruit and ingredient purchases with basic accounting duties, providing the leadership team with a clear view of profitability while supporting accurate bookkeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily and weekly fruit and ingredient costs by SKU and channel, flagging any deviation from targets.
• Record all direct market purchases in Odoo on the same day and maintain a weekly wastage log linked to cost percentages.
• Reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes, investigating price or quantity variances.
• Assist the Operations team with supplier selection, purchase‑order accuracy and pricing inputs for kitchen and market purchases.
• Support standard and AVCO costing for new products and menu items across all four sub‑brands.
• Prepare weekly cost dashboards for leadership meetings.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoicing and payment reconciliation.
• Verify payroll data against HR arrangements before reporting.
• Participate in month‑end close activities such as accruals, inventory valuation and journal entries under supervision.
• Track OPEX lines (utilities, subscriptions, IT contracts) against budget and assist with related audits.
• Maintain documentation required for VAT filing, corporate tax and annual audit, escalating discrepancies to the Lead Accountant.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in cost control, F&B or hospitality accounting, or a junior accounting role.
• Strong understanding of food‑cost drivers and willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Odoo ERP for purchase and inventory tracking.
