Cost Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to join our Dubai‑based landscaping and irrigation contracting team. The role will oversee all contractual and financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate costing and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process subcontractors’ payment certificates and ensure payments align with contractual terms.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for materials, prepare variations, monthly valuations and certify subcontractor invoices.
• Compile cost reports highlighting processed, approved and outstanding payments for management review.
• Draft technical specifications and coordinate with the Estimation department to assess cost impacts of variations and design changes.
• Finalize project accounts by verifying quantities, preparing documentation and securing final client payment certificates.
• Issue subcontract inquiries, evaluate quotations, conduct technical and commercial comparisons and recommend subcontractor appointments.
• Provide value engineering solutions, procurement guidance and technical support during tendering and contract award stages.
• Participate in internal and external meetings, including pre‑commencement and progress reviews.
• Coordinate submission of bonds, guarantees, warranties and insurances until contractual closure.
• Identify, document and monitor contractual variations in coordination with the project team.
• Perform daily valuations and cost assessments of work in progress across landscape, fit‑out and civil works.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Engineer in construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of contractual procedures, payment certification and cost control.
• Ability to prepare and evaluate Bills of Quantities, variations and detailed cost reports.
• Excellent coordination with project, procurement and finance teams.
