CSSD Technician

About the role

The Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) at Royal Khalifa City Hospital is seeking a qualified Technician to manage the collection, cleaning, assembly and sterilisation of medical equipment and instruments. The role ensures timely distribution of sterile supplies across all hospital units while maintaining strict infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, assemble and sterilise equipment, supplies and instruments for all units under the direction of the CSSD In‑Charge.
• Ensure distribution of sterile supplies to the appropriate areas.
• Wash and decontaminate used instruments following prescribed techniques.
• Process and maintain sterile instruments and surgical sets, ensuring adequacy and correct handling.
• Collect and distribute items to and from units in a timely manner, documenting any shortages.
• Report problems to the CSSD In‑Charge and keep the work area and equipment clean.
• Comply with OSH and infection‑control policies, waste‑management procedures and emergency protocols.

Required profile

• Valid DOH/DHA licence as a CSSD Technician in the UAE.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Medical Sterilisation Management and Operation Theatre Technology.
• Minimum 3‑4 years of experience in a multispecialty hospital after qualification.
• Home‑country registration as a CSSD Technician from a recognised regulatory authority.
• Fluency in spoken and written English (Arabic desirable).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
