Curriculum Specialist – Health and Physical Education

About the role

The Curriculum Specialist – Health and Physical Education will lead the design, development and continuous improvement of the Health and Physical Education curriculum for P‑12 students. Working closely with school faculty, staff and stakeholders, the role ensures alignment with the P‑12 policy, best practices and learning expectations. The specialist also serves as the primary liaison for curriculum review and updates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop curricula and set learning expectations for Health and Physical Education for P‑12 students in accordance with policy and best practices.
• Act as the liaison for reviewing and updating the curriculum, coordinating input from relevant parties.
• Design and develop curriculum content based on research and consultation with faculty, staff and stakeholders.
• Participate in setting goals, learning expectations and evaluating Health and Physical Education subjects.
• Coordinate the review and assessment of the curriculum to ensure objectives and policy requirements are met.
• Work with the Pedagogy and Learning Resources section to prepare instructional material for printing and develop detailed outlines for instruction.
• Develop and maintain a research database to support curriculum development and review.
