Data Center Facility Manager – Dubai

About the role

Alibaba Cloud is seeking a senior Data Center Facility Manager to lead operations of its regional collocation facilities in Dubai. You will act as the technical leader for normal and emergency situations, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and driving energy‑efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain change‑management procedures, SOPs and EOPs for regional data centre facilities.
• Lead a team of engineers and external consultants to implement operational processes and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate with vendors to enforce SLA compliance and validate the quality of on‑site work.
• Support construction phases from schematic design through commissioning, providing administrative assistance to project managers.
• Conduct electrical system audits, startup testing and full commissioning at multiple sites.
• Develop and review scripts for change‑management request (CMR) activities.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis of equipment failures or power outages.
• Travel domestically and internationally (25‑50%+ of the time) to support data centre projects and emergencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience managing large‑scale (10 MW+) data centre facilities worldwide.
• Deep knowledge of data centre mechanical, electrical, fire and control systems.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, IT service delivery principles and data centre construction procedures.
• Strong problem‑analysis and critical‑thinking abilities, self‑driven and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel extensively and respond to on‑site emergencies.
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
