Design Coordinator – Underground Structures Rail

About the role

The Design Coordinator will lead the development and delivery of underground structures for rail projects, ensuring designs meet project requirements, technical standards, and stakeholder expectations. You will act as the central point of contact for multidisciplinary design teams and drive alignment across civil, structural, geotechnical, and MEP disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs for tunnels, shafts, and retaining systems.
• Manage design interfaces between civil, structural, geotechnical, and MEP disciplines.
• Review design submissions for compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Support value‑engineering and constructability reviews.
• Track design progress and ensure timely delivery against programme milestones.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve design issues.
• Identify and mitigate design‑phase risks.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years experience in underground structures design coordination or a related field.
• Experience on large‑scale infrastructure or rail projects is advantageous.
• Engineering degree (civil, structural, or related discipline).
