Design Engineer – Firefighting Systems

About the role

NAFFCO is seeking a Design Engineer specialized in firefighting systems to create detailed designs, calculations and documentation that meet NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defense requirements. The role involves close collaboration with project, estimation, MEP and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design fire protection solutions including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump and foam systems.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, select equipment and draft technical specifications.
• Produce shop, design and as‑built drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Review project specifications, BOQ requirements and ensure compliance with NFPA, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and Civil Defense regulations.
• Coordinate technical meetings, support material submittals and handle authority approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in firefighting system design.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit/BIM is advantageous.
• Experience in UAE/GCC projects and civil‑defense approvals is a plus.
