Design Manager – Masterplanning (UAE)

About the role

The Design Manager will lead large‑scale masterplanning, urban design and mixed‑use development projects across the UAE and international markets. You will be responsible for design quality, technical rigour and client relationships while ensuring projects meet commercial and regulatory goals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design teams from vision and pre‑concept through to CMP/DMP/FMP stages.
• Maintain high standards of design quality, technical accuracy and commercial soundness.
• Build and manage project programmes, schedules and resource plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants across architecture, landscape, infrastructure, transport, environmental and engineering.
• Track progress, budgets and risks, implementing mitigation measures.
• Serve as primary client contact on design and contractual matters.
• Lead workshops, presentations and design review sessions.
• Ensure compliance with local planning regulations and authority requirements.
• Support business development, proposal writing and client acquisition.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Urban Planning or related field.
• 8–12+ years of experience in masterplanning and urban design, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven track record leading large‑scale mixed‑use, residential, hospitality or commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of masterplanning methodologies, automation processes and sustainability principles.
