Designer – Offshore Structures

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join our Offshore Structures team in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves delivering detailed design and drafting for offshore steel platforms within a leading oil & gas consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, basic, and detailed design drawings of structural steel works for offshore platforms and structures.
• Create structural steel general arrangements, plans, sections, and details.
• Model structural steel using PDMS or Tekla, generate 2D drawings from the models, and produce material take‑offs (MTOs).
• Develop detailed engineering drawings in line with drafting standards and quality procedures.
• Conduct site visits when required to gather project‑related information.
• Interpret scope of work, client standards, and relevant international standards.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior designers.
• Work independently as a committed team player with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of proven experience in detailed engineering drafting of steel structures for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with PDMS, Tekla, or SP3D is preferred.
• Middle East experience is advantageous.
