Director of Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and operational performance of the Le Meridien property in Fujairah. This senior leader oversees the building, grounds, and physical plant while ensuring guest and employee expectations are met and financial goals are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the engineering budget, capital projects, preventative maintenance programs and energy conservation initiatives.
• Supervise all plant systems including HVAC‑R, refrigeration, plumbing, water‑treatment, electrical and fire‑life‑safety equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and maintain all required licenses, permits and certifications.
• Lead the emergency response team, oversee construction projects and coordinate service contracts to support property needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 6 years of engineering and maintenance experience, **or** a 2‑year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, etc., with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, Electrical and Plumbing systems.
