Director of Housekeeping

About the role

The Director of Housekeeping leads the housekeeping team at St. Regis Abu Dhabi, overseeing daily cleaning operations for guest rooms, public areas and employee zones. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping operations, ensuring compliance with policies, standards and procedures while controlling budgets and inventory.
• Supervise daily shift activities, conduct inspections of guestrooms and public spaces, and implement corrective action plans.
• Plan staffing levels, schedule employees, and oversee recruitment, training, performance feedback and progressive discipline.
• Monitor guest feedback, respond to complaints, and drive continuous improvement in service quality.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and uniforms for all staff and ensure proper documentation of time and attendance.
• Inventory stock levels, order supplies and ensure adequate materials are available for daily operations.
• Communicate areas needing attention to staff, follow up to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Participate in departmental meetings, convey goals and performance expectations to the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in housekeeping, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• Experience working in luxury hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage budgets and improve guest and employee satisfaction.
