Director of Sales

About the role

Lead, direct and motivate the Sales team, ensuring the yearly sales budget is achieved and surpassed. The Director of Sales will manage the department in line with the hotel's mission, vision and objectives, and act as the Commercial Director’s deputy when required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Commercial Director in preparing the yearly revenue and expense budget and ensure targets are met.
• Set sales targets, personal sales plans and incentives for all sales personnel.
• Monitor weekly sales reports, outstanding balances and follow‑up leads to generate group and individual business.
• Maintain relationships with Kempinski Global Sales Offices, local sales offices and key accounts.
• Oversee leisure, corporate and group segments, respond to enquiries within 24 hours and greet site inspections.
• Represent the hotel at international fairs, road shows and trade events.
• Supervise quotation preparation, reservation handling and rate setting for corporate and travel‑trade accounts.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business Administration specialized in Sales or a related Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum three years of international managerial experience in sales & marketing at a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multinational environment.

Required skills

• Negotiation and selling skills.
• Knowledge of food production and service procedures.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience using Micros Fidelio Opera and Sales & Catering systems.
