Director of Software Engineering

About the role

Presight Solutions is looking for a strategic, hands‑on Director of Software Engineering to shape the architecture and delivery of national‑scale digital currency and real‑time payment platforms. You will lead the creation of secure, high‑throughput systems that support Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), interbank transfers, and distributed ledger technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long‑term technology vision for CBDC and digital payment initiatives.
• Build and scale cross‑functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and regulatory compliance.
• Architect and oversee real‑time, fault‑tolerant transaction systems, digital wallets, settlement engines and interbank transfer platforms.
• Ensure platforms meet the highest security standards through regular risk assessments, penetration testing and compliance audits.
• Promote modern engineering practices such as DevSecOps, cloud‑native infrastructure, API‑first design and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Represent the company in regulatory working groups, intergovernmental forums and industry partnerships.
• Establish governance structures for code quality, system reliability, disaster recovery and incident response.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience (12+ years) in software engineering, preferably within financial technology.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements, AML/CFT, data privacy and operational risk in the financial sector.
• Track record of delivering large‑scale, secure, high‑performance platforms for payments or digital currencies.
• Strong communication skills to engage with regulators, policymakers and industry peers.
