Director of Tax

About the role

The Director of Tax leads the strategic oversight and centralized coordination of TensorWave’s global tax footprint. This senior leadership position ensures that all tax disciplines—from income tax to R&D credits—are aligned with the company’s broader financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the central hub for all tax‑related Subject Matter Experts, coordinating Income Tax, Sales & Use, Property, Real Estate, and R&D Credit functions.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive tax strategy focused on disciplined growth, risk mitigation, and effective tax rate optimization.
• Advise the CFO and executive team on tax implications of major initiatives such as M&A, international expansion, and capital structure changes.
• Partner with legal and finance teams to structure complex transactions for maximum tax efficiency.
• Oversee real‑estate tax liabilities, manage assessments, and lead timely appeals.
• Identify and capture R&D tax credits and other local/federal incentives, managing documentation and filing.
• Establish and maintain a robust tax governance framework compliant with SOX, GAAP, and local statutes.
• Lead coordination of tax audits and inquiries, acting as the primary liaison with auditors and tax authorities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tax processes and leverage technology.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience overseeing global tax functions.
• Proven track record in tax strategy development and execution.
• Experience advising C‑suite on tax aspects of M&A, international growth, and capital structure.
• Strong knowledge of income, sales & use, property, real‑estate, and R&D tax credits.
• Familiarity with SOX, GAAP, and local statutory compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional coordination skills.
