Drilling Applications Engineer

About the role

The Drilling Applications Engineer will provide technical support and maintain ADNOC Drilling's digital tools for well planning, bottom‑hole assembly (BHA) optimization, and real‑time drilling performance. The role ensures safe, efficient operations through accurate engineering analysis and digital workflows, including collision avoidance and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare well plans, engineering calculations and integrated pre‑well planning programs.
• Implement collision avoidance planning using industry‑standard anti‑collision rules and ADNOC guidelines.
• Monitor real‑time wellbore positioning and apply corrective actions to prevent well‑to‑well interference.
• Perform torque & drag, hydraulics and vibration modelling for complex wells.
• Provide technical assistance during drilling operations and maintain engineering documentation.
• Prepare post‑well performance reviews, end‑of‑well reports and lessons‑learned documentation.
• Model drilling performance using simulation software and recommend tools for improved efficiency.
• Analyze offset well data and operational KPIs to identify performance gaps and propose optimization strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in drilling engineering or related applications.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
