Electrical Design Engineer – Commercial & Institutional Segment

About the role

The Electrical Design Engineer creates standard reference designs for commercial and institutional buildings, integrating low‑voltage, medium‑voltage, UPS, energy‑storage and life‑safety systems into comprehensive Eaton solutions. The role translates technical and business requirements into scalable, value‑driven designs that address end‑customer challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with segment strategy and offer leaders to define target sub‑segments such as healthcare, education, retail and mixed‑use.
• Develop reference designs and sales tools for each sub‑segment to promote Eaton’s full offering.
• Create and maintain a library of reference designs aligned with the product roadmap.
• Engage Business Unit product managers and applications engineers to position products within designs and fill capability gaps.
• Produce detailed visual assets—including design guides, CAD files and technical specifications—together with the Marcom team.
• Support the Marcom team in developing associated marketing tools.

Required profile

• Ability to develop standard reference designs for commercial and institutional building projects.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with product managers, applications engineers and marketing teams.
