Electrical Engineer – Design & Application (Medium Voltage Switchgear)

About the role

The Electrical Engineer – Design & Application will lead detailed design and application engineering of medium‑voltage (MV) switchgear, ensuring compliance with IEC standards, accurate protection relay engineering, and on‑time project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and interlocking logic for MV switchgear (AIS/GIS up to 36 kV).
• Perform bus‑bar sizing, short‑circuit withstand calculations and thermal analysis in accordance with IEC 62271 series.
• Select, configure and program numerical protection relays (ABB, Siemens, Schneider) and develop trip matrices and interlocking logic.
• Conduct protection coordination studies using ETAP or DigSILENT and support FAT and site commissioning.
• Review customer specifications, prepare compliance statements and propose optimized solutions.
• Prepare test procedures, support factory acceptance tests and provide technical assistance during manufacturing and installation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of experience in MV switchgear design and protection engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62271 and IEC 60255 standards.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
