Electrical Engineer – Design & Coordination

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, production and coordination of electrical systems for large‑scale infrastructure projects, primarily in Dubai. The role involves ensuring compliance with local and international standards while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, review and coordination of lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, emergency lighting, earthing and lightning protection, and ELV systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with Dubai/UAE regulations, CIBSE, IEC, BS, DEWA, DCD and other relevant standards.
• Integrate electrical systems with MEP, architectural and civil works, and manage interfaces with HVAC, fire‑fighting, de‑watering, escalator/elevator and power supply systems.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, calculation notes, cable schedules and shop drawings.
• Obtain local authority approvals and support the project through testing, deployment and maintenance phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical system design for metro rail or large infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record on rail and metro projects and ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Software: ETAP, Amtech, Dialux, Relux, Revit, Navisworks.
• Strong knowledge of medium and low voltage distribution, lighting controls and electrical load calculations.
• Familiarity with Dubai regulatory requirements and local authority approval processes.
