Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repairs and services of electrical machinery and equipment, ensuring efficient operation and minimizing production downtime at its Abu Dhabi facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment and systems, including generators, switchgear, transformers and motors.
• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance with minimal supervision, including on‑call duties as required.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and job instructions to carry out safe maintenance activities.
• Monitor repeated breakdowns, propose and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure all work complies with EHS standards, plant operating requirements and Permit to Work procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a Craft/Trade certificate.
• At least 5 years of experience in a power plant or electrical sub‑station (Diploma holders) or 8 years for Craft/Trade holders.
• Hands‑on experience with generators, switchgear, transformers and related electrical schemes.
• Good command of English (reading, writing and speaking).

• Use of electrical maintenance tools.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings.
• Operation and maintenance of generators, motors, transformers and switchgear.
• Computerised maintenance system usage, spare‑parts ordering and record keeping.
