Electro-Technical Officer – Vessel Operations

About the role

We are seeking an Electro‑Technical Officer to join the Vessel Operations team of a leading oil and gas operator in the UAE. The role involves overseeing all electrical systems on board, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of generators, propulsion, automation and navigation equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain generators, distribution and automatic control systems for propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
• Carry out periodic checks and maintenance in line with the vessel’s planned maintenance programme.
• Ensure all work processes are approved before commencement.
• Diagnose, repair and report faults on electrical machinery and equipment to the Chief Engineer.
• Prepare and submit material requisitions for consumables and spares, and manage onboard inventory.
• Present electrical systems for Class, Flag State and internal audits.
• Assist the Chief Engineer with non‑electrical tasks and major works planning, including dry‑docking.

Required profile

• STCW III/6 licence.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an ETO on offshore DP2‑classed vessels.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail.
