Elevated Structures Expert – Metro & High Speed Rail

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Elevated Structures Expert to lead the design, review and construction support of elevated infrastructure for metro and high‑speed rail projects in Abu Dhabi. The role serves as the subject‑matter expert for viaducts, stations, guideways, rail bridges and precast segmental structures throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership as SME for elevated rail structures from concept through commissioning, including design reviews, value engineering and lifecycle optimisation.
• Develop and validate structural design criteria, specifications, calculations, BIM models and construction documents, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes, AASHTO, AREMA, UIC and local regulations.
• Oversee static, dynamic, seismic, wind and fatigue analyses and assess constructability of precast and cast‑in‑situ solutions.
• Support construction activities by reviewing temporary works, lifting plans, resolving site engineering issues and conducting technical inspections.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and regulatory authorities, and represent Parsons in technical workshops and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) and professional registration (PE, CEng or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years of design and construction experience, including at least 10 years on metro, rail or high‑speed rail projects.
• Proven expertise in elevated viaducts, rail bridges, elevated stations and precast segmental structures.
• Strong knowledge of railway structural design standards, seismic design, dynamic analysis and prestressed concrete.
