Engineer I – Planning (Construction Project Controls)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Engineer I – Planning to join its Abu Dhabi site team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and supporting the delivery of energy infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update project monitoring packages, including Level 3 schedules, progress measurement systems, reporting and invoicing tools.
• Translate scope of work into detailed schedules and assist engineering and procurement teams with micro‑schedules and milestone tracking.
• Prepare construction activity schedules in collaboration with the construction team.
• Issue quality planning deliverables and progress reports on a timely basis.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress against approved schedules, preparing weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Review subcontractor proposals for schedule impact and keep senior planners informed of constraints.
• Maintain and update commodity release plans and identify potential schedule risks.
• Support post‑award contract review for schedule and commercial parameters.
• Assist senior planning engineers with schedule assurance and risk analysis.

Required profile

• Graduate engineer with 6‑7 years of experience in project controls.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, progress monitoring, and procurement activities.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and communicate schedule status effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Primavera scheduling software.
