Engineer II - Flight Test

About the role

The Flight Test Engineer II will lead and support the planning, execution, and analysis of flight test activities for aircraft and weapon system integration. This role ensures systems meet performance, safety, and integration requirements through comprehensive test planning and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design detailed test plans covering performance, stability, and safety objectives.
• Conduct flight tests either onboard the aircraft or from a control room, monitoring all relevant parameters.
• Review and analyse flight test data to assess integration against expected outcomes.
• Identify and diagnose issues during testing and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting objectives, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with pilots, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure safe and effective testing.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and advice to engineering teams based on test outcomes.
• Manage the flight test phase, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in flight testing.
• Experience with aerodynamics, flight mechanics, aircraft and weapon systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance (MIL‑STD) and interface control documentation.
• Advanced knowledge of flight test management systems.
